The Heart of Everyday Peacemaking in the Global Context
Working across cultures brings rich opportunities—but also unique challenges, especially when it comes to handling conflict. Cultural differences can shape how people perceive, respond to, and resolve tensions. This training has been designed with global cross-cultural workers front of mind but is readily applicable to anyone working in cross-cultural ministry whether in the local church or abroad.
Our presenters
Wayne Forward
Wayne Forward is the CEO of PeaceWise. With a background in Mental Health Nursing, pastoral ministry, missions and leadership mentoring and coaching, Wayne has seen the destructive impact that conflict can have on relationships personally and professionally. He has also seen the amazing power and testimony that comes when reconciliation happens through biblical peacemaking. As a national trainer and mediator for PeaceWise, Wayne brings a wealth of experience to helping others respond to conflict differently and experience why Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” Wayne is married to Amy. They have three children. When not with PeaceWise, you will likely, find him cycling or training for an upcoming triathlon.
Phillip Marshall
Dr Phillip Marshall is an intercultural leadership mentor with four decades of experience in global missions. Now based in Newcastle, Australia, he has also lived in Japan, New Zealand, Peru, Malawi and Singapore. As a professional pastoral supervisor, mentor and seminary professor, his ministry centres on leadership development, especially among younger leaders. His experience in cross-cultural ministry has shown the importance of biblical peace-making, particularly in diverse teams. A favourite verse is Ps 29:11: “The Lord blesses his people with peace.” To relax, he enjoys walking around Newcastle foreshore with Diane and long distance running.
